Nonprofit Grants - Orange County/Palos Verdes

Project/Program Criteria

Recipients will be selected by considering a number of factors, including the following criteria:

  • How well does the project align with the Cox Charities focus areas.

  • The overall significance of the project, i.e. long-term objectives, community impact.

  • The proposal clearly explains what makes this program unique.

  • The degree to which the project and our partnership will be promoted to key stakeholders and the general community.

  • The ability to define clear metrics for success.


To optimize our impact, we generally do not support:

  • Animal welfare

  • Arts & Culture

  • Capital expenditures (i.e. purchase of computers, tablets, etc)

  • Events (i.e. galas, walks/runs)

  • Health & Wellness (i.e. disease prevention, health related missions)

  • Scholarship funds

  • Foundations

  • Specific individuals

  • Labor or fraternal organizations

  • Organizations that discriminate

  • Non 501(c)3 designated organizations

  • Recreational sports teams and clubs

  • Religious or political promotion

  • Travel

Grant Process:

  • Requests for up to $5,000 will be considered.

  • All applications will be reviewed by the Cox Charities Advisory Board.

  • Nonprofits will be notified in October.
